A post-doctoral research associate position is available at King’s College London within the Department of Biomedical Engineering, located at the St Thomas Hospital. King’s College London, with its 200 years of heritage, is recognised today as a world-leading research university, ranked 7th in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.
The post holder will participate in a Wellcome Trust funded project on MR-guided ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, led by Prof. Reza Razavi. The applicant will join an interdisciplinary environment with a strong experience and expertise in cardiac/interventional MRI as well as in image processing. The project will involve the development of novel techniques for myocardial tissue characterization, publishing in high impact journals and presenting findings at international conferences. The post-holder will work under the supervision of Dr. Sebastien Roujol and Prof. Reza Razavi.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in biomedical engineering, medical physics, computer science or related fields. The candidate should have a strong experience and track record in at least one of the following: MRI sequence development and/or MR-reconstruction/image processing techniques. Furthermore, the applicant should have a good knowledge of MRI physics and good programming skills in Matlab/C++. Experience in pulse sequence programming (Siemens: IDEA) would be advantageous.
The initial appointment is for a period of 1 year. The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £32,958 to £39,324 per annum, plus £2,623 per annum London Allowance.
