The Institute of Medical Engineering (Graz University of Technology) and the SFB “Mathematical Optimization and Applications in Biomedical Sciences” offer a Ph.D. position in the field of medical imaging. The focus of this position lies in the field of image reconstruction and artifact correction for MRI, and includes the following tasks:

• Investigation and Implementation of new approaches for joint image reconstruction and motion correction [1].
• Conduction of MR experiments on a 3T clinical scanner.
• Design of studies for clinical validation.

The work will be performed in a team with several years’ experience in new MR-Image reconstruction methods. The Institute has access to a clinical 3T research system (cooperation with the Medical University) and will operate another research system at Graz University of Technology starting in end of February next year.

• Master degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Medical Physics or a related field.
• Programming skills (Matlab, C++).
• Proficiency in medical imaging and/or image processing, MR-experience
• Interest to work in an interdisciplinary team.

• Proficient in mathematical optimization and/or inverse problems.
• GPU computing skills (especially CUDA).
