The Medical Faculty Mannheim of the University of Heidelberg is searching within the next earliest possible time point, initially for a limited period of 2 years, for a physicist specialised on MRI to work in the MRI research group of the Department of Neurology (Chairman: Prof. Dr. M. Hennerici).
MRI Physicist (m/f)

The salary follows the terms of the collective agreement of the public sector of the federal states (TV-L).

You have:
  • a university degree in physics
  • a good knowledge of medical MRI imaging including diffusion, tensor imaging and functional MRI
  • an analytical, results orientated and independent method of working, resilience and flexibility
  • the ability to work on your own initiative, have team and communicative ability, sound German and English.

Advantageous would be:
  • a completed post doctoral or equal scientific work (also possible is a doctoral thesis to Dr. sc. hum.) at our institution
  • good fundamentals in MRI physics
  • programming ability, including MRI sequence programming (e.g. Siemens IDEA)
  • an affinity to research and development, experience in the academic area
  • interest on a close cooperation with scientists of other fields (medicine, biology, informatics)
