We are seeking a post-doctoral research associate for 18 months to participate in the Magnetic Resonance Guided Therapy of Arrhythmia (MARGITA) research project. This project will develop the first Magnetic Resonance (MR) guided arrhythmia therapy procedure using a novel catheter device, which avoids radiation completely. Furthermore, non-invasive MR-techniques will also be developed to visualise the treatment lesions for individual assessment of therapy. The post will be responsible for the development of new MR-acquisition and reconstruction techniques. In particular, the aim is to investigate knowledge-based reconstructions techniques for visualization of novel catheter devices. For this, the post will work closely together with the Philips Healthcare as the industrial partner of the project. The position is funded by grant of the UK Technology Strategy Board (TSB). Responsibilities
The Division of Imaging Science at KCL has an interdisciplinary group of over 100 researchers working in imaging research in 1,500 m2 of newly refurbished office and lab space at St Thomas' Hospital with a focus on cardiovascular disease. In particular 30 scientists working on Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging with three dedicated research MR-scanners (Philips Achieva). For an information pack please see our website at www.kcl.ac.uk/jobs or e-mail hsrecruit3@kcl.ac.uk. (applications will be available from Monday 19.04.10 onwards) Please quote reference N6/MRC/604/10-TP when applying and in all correspondence.
