| Beschreibung: |
GE Global Research is one of the world's largest and most diversified industrial research laboratories. The key technologies of our new European Research Center in Munich range from renewable energies, environmental and sensors technologies and composite manufacturing to advanced clinical applications.
PhD Student:
MR methods for hyperpolarised imaging (m/f) This PhD studentship will be focused on the development of novel MRI pulse sequences for imaging of lung disease using hyperpolarised 129Xe gas. It will be based on an existing collaboration between world-leading academic (University of Sheffield - Wild) and industrial (GE – Schulte, Wiesinger, Wolber) groups active in the fields of Hyperpolarised MRI technology research. The proposed studentship will benefit from the unique combination of a leading academic MR research group and the input of GE scientists. This will enable the student to translate novel MR methodologies from the initial concept all the way to clinical evaluation under academic and industrial co-supervision. This is a very valuable multi-disciplinary educational experience that will prepare the PhD student for a career in academia and relevant industry alike. The student will be based at the University of Sheffield, UK, with regular visits to GE Global Research, Munich. A graduate Physicist is sought with a sound theoretical and experimental background, preferably with some MRI or NMR experience. Responsibilities
